I don’t reinvent my wardrobe every fall. I still like adding a few things, but I want them to fill an actual gap or bring something I know I’ll use.
I also resell quite a bit of what I’ve stopped wearing, which gives me some room, and budget, to bring something new in.
So this is not a haul. These are the things I’ve added after thinking about them properly. Some are very simple, some less so, but each one was something I’d been missing.
Zara silk fluid top
This is the kind of thing I end up wearing all the time. Simple, fluid, neutral, and good with jeans, tailored pants, leather, pretty much anything.
I went up to an XL because I wanted it loose rather than neat. It also gives me a good base for piling on necklaces, which is probably how I’ll wear it most.

Aritzia denim shirt
I’d been looking for an oversized denim shirt that was very plain. No Western yoke, no embroidery, no extra hardware. Just a good, slouchy denim button-down.
This one from Aritzia was just what I wanted. It’s soft, lightweight, comes in a few washes, and the price is very good for what it is.

Róhe rollneck
A chunky knit is basically what I live in once it gets cold, so I wanted one in a neutral that would work hard.
This gray-brown taupe was just right. It goes with white, black, blue denim in every wash, red trousers, metallics. For pieces like this, I almost always stay neutral because I want to wear them constantly, not think about them.
With knitwear, I also tend to spend a little more. I haven’t had the best experience with cheaper high-street knits, so I usually look somewhere in the middle. Róhe sits in that range for me, and this one feels really good.

A fitted leather blazer
I’ve been very into this shorter, fitted leather shape. It feels more like a blazer than a jacket, and because it sits close to the body, it can go under a coat once it gets colder.
I ended up going with a vintage version, which I’ll show you soon. But I found this Mango one with a very similar silhouette, tried it, and it’s really good. I showed it on Stories already, and it’s a great current option.

Khaite Colt 100 mules
The whole Colt family has had me for a while, but I especially wanted the 100 mm mule.
I usually prefer mules to closed pumps because my feet swell easily, and an open back is just more forgiving. So when I found these on double sale at Farfetch, I didn’t hesitate.
They’re an older model, but I found a few sizes still available at MyTheresa. I like that they work barefoot, with socks, in summer, and through the in-between seasons.

Arket nylon tote
I love a soft bag, and this one was an easy yes.
It fits my laptop, weighs almost nothing, and works for the kind of everyday running around where I don’t want to think too much about the bag. It comes in black and red, and both are good.
Clean, practical, slightly ’90s. A little CBK.

One that didn’t make the cut: Zara organza dress
I really like this dress. It’s simple enough that I could see a lot of ways to style it: belted, layered over trousers, with necklaces, over a slip.
But realistically, I wouldn’t wear it until summer, and I didn’t want to buy something now just to store it for months.
So I left it.

And another one that didn’t
This Gaia bag from Jude stayed in my cart for a while, mostly for the texture. I was very close to buying it.
Then I started thinking about the python, and I just didn’t want to go there. The same bag also came in black nubuck leather, which I would happily buy, but of course that version is sold out.
So, out of cart. Out of sight.

And that’s the edit
Looking at everything together, it’s a pretty accurate picture of how I’m shopping right now. A few useful pieces I know I’ll wear a lot, plus the occasional shoe or bag that brings something more specific.
And a few things I liked enough to consider, but not enough to make room for.
